We welcome applications to the scholarship programme from students in any UK University who are studying towards, or about to begin studying towards, a postgraduate degree.

Applications open in January each year and close in late May. Interviews are usually held in the first week of June.

2026-27 Application Form

The 2026-27 B-Less scholarship is a one-year award of £2,000 designed to facilitate sustained engagement in focused ministry opportunities among undergraduates.

Ministry placements are assigned on the basis of each individual scholar’s gifts and availabilities from a portfolio of options in consultation with our ministry partners. Colloquia form a central part of the scholarship programme, serving to develop and nurture each scholar’s vision for usefulness among undergraduates and creating opportunities to review progress. 

Key Dates:

  • Application Deadline: Monday 18th May
  • Deadline for references: Friday 29th May
  • Interviews: week commencing 31st May
  • Annual Conference (for new and returning scholars): Friday 4th September

Criteria

The B-Less scholarship is open to current postgraduate students working towards Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma, Masters, and Doctoral qualifications, and to prospective postgraduate students. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from students studying towards an Undergraduate Masters degree.

Applicants will be active participants in local evangelical churches and will assent enthusiastically to the UCCF Doctrinal Basis and the larger mission and ethos of B-Less.

Application Form

The application form below will ask for your personal details, an academic and a character reference, and responses to the following five prompts (max. 250 words each):

  • Briefly describe the relationship between study and personal faith in your own experience as a student
  • What, in your view, are the principal pastoral needs of evangelical undergraduates in a secular university?
  • Reflecting on your own gifts and experiences, describe your vision for the ministry usefulness of an evangelical postgraduate student among undergraduates?
  • What excites you about the B-Less Scholarship?
  • Please affirm your assent to the UCCF Doctrinal Basis

Submission of the form constitutes consent for the taking up of references.
